Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been a Greek American columnist, author and entrepreneur for more than twenty years. She is a founder of The Huffington Post and the chief executive officer of Thrive Global. Author of over 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a writer and philanthropist as well as a television host and the owner of the independent free online news publication The Huffington Post. Her birthplace was Greece she relocated to England at the age of 16 and was able to graduate from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. When she was 21, she became the president of the famed debate club The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign student to do so. When she graduated, she made her mark as a conservative syndicated columnist and with the launch of The Huffington Post' few years later, she developed an online voice platform that gave critical opinions about the current political climate. The fame of Arianna led to the recruitment of a number of well-known contributors for posting their opinions on the news, politics and culture. Arianna was famous when she decided to stand as an independent Candidate for the California Recall Election to replace the former governor Davis. Alongside this she was the leader of the Detroit Project for efficient vehicles that use less fuel. She was named one of the Most Popular Women in Media by Forbes in 2009, gaining the 12th place in that list. The same year, the Guardian named her on the Top 100 Media List. AOL Inc. appointed her President of their media company in 2011 following the purchased The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post also included additional AOL brands such as Engadget AOLmusic Style list and Patch Media. Elli is the daughter of Konstantinos Stasinopoulos and Elli the other, both of whom are journalists and consultants in management. Even though she was close with her father, the relationship she had with her mother shaped the rest of her life. She was a leader from the beginning. She moved to England at 16, to pursue her education and then enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. When she was in college, she joined Cambridge Union's college debating societies which she later became the first foreign female president. In 1972, her Master's in Economics was conferred. She became a writer, a critic television host, as well as a columnist following her graduation. She was a guest on Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she began writing the books she wrote with Bernard Levin's assistance.
